Yikes! A Naked Cake!

Well, it's true that you learn something new every day. I had no idea that there was an annual World Naked Bike Ride in St. Louis. This was their 7th year! The bike ride goes right through the Soulard neighborhood, so Rich Brooks appropriately placed a "naked cake" outside the doors of the Art Market. Plain white cakes have been called "naked cakes" since the stl250 project began...so this was just too funny to let it get by without a photo. After all, we're only about 20 minutes from Soulard.

I told the girls about the naked bike ride, and we planned a pose for the cake. Chloe said, "Well, I really don't think it's an appropriate thing...to plan a naked bike ride." Holly wants to know where she can sign up to participate! She's mad that it's over, and I didn't take her.

Next week, Rich is going to start painting this cake officially. It's going to go somewhere near the intersection of highway 70 and Riverview...so that's North County. (Sigh...a long way from us.) He said it would probably take him about 3 weeks or so to finish it. He also said he would post on Facebook when he's going to be painting, and sometimes he'll have cupcakes! So we'll probably go by to see him paint at least once.

  1. Funny! You are going to go into cake withdrawal once school starts!
