Cakes On the Way to a Party (Cakes 73-77)

Tracy and Lori were celebrating their 40th birthday today! We were excited to get to their party! The girls woke up early, and we headed towards Lake St. Louis...by way of highway 70 and the St. Charles cakes! We got to the Lewis and Clark Boat House and Nature Center with only one problem...when the girls were posed and ready with the cake, I had no SD card in the camera. Yikes! We had to make a quick trip to Walgreens to buy a new one. Then we were finally ready to roll.

Chloe's new favorite pose is "eat the cake."

The weather was so much cooler today! With the wind, it was downright chilly! We were wishing for jackets.

I liked the "Lewis and Clark" theme for the cake...very nicely done!

The next cake is the Shrine of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne. This cake location was a popular vote winner. St. Rose Philippine Duchesne was a French missionary who brought formalized education to the Missouri frontier in 1818 when she established a school for girls.

Our third cake was the St. Charles Old County Courthouse. While we were there, we met some cakers who were happy to be on their 5th cake. We said that this was number 75 for us!

Eating the cake...I think the girls were getting ready to eat some real birthday cake at the party!

This location is the First Missouri State Capitol. The capitol was located here from 1821 to 1826.

We all liked the fireworks on top of the cake!

Lindenwood University is the site of our last cake of the day. I attended Lindenwood while I was working on my +30, and pursuing administrative classes. Then I got smart and figured out that I didn't want to be a school administrator. No salary is worth that stress! So after completing half of the administration program, I switched gears and finished my hours with more generalized, and definitely "fluffier" stuff.

CHOMP!

And finally, we arrived at the birthday party for Aunt Lori and Aunt Tracy! We were in time to hide and yell "SURPRISE!" before the birthday girls arrived.

Amy made the birthday cake! Lori wanted a cake in the style of the STL250 cakes. Amy outdid herself; the cake was awesome!

Tracy and Lori blew out the candles on the cake. Happy Birthday to you both!
