Today Amy and I planned to take the cousins to see cakes at Grant's Farm and Grant's Trail. (We also went by Sappington House and Laumeier Sculpture Park, to help the Downeys find those nearby cakes, too!)
Here are some scenes from Grant's Farm. We had a lot of fun!
Today was a gorgeous day; temperatures in the 70's. EVERYONE in St. Louis came to Grant's Farm today, or so it seemed. The animals didn't mind. They were relaxing in the shade.
Ah, the sights and smells to be experienced!
Then we headed toward the Parakeet house. This is a new attraction at Grant's Farm. You can get a popsicle stick with millet spray glued to it, and feed the birds! I was surprised that Holly and Chloe both wanted to do this, but they were definitely willing to give it a try! Chloe said she felt "a little scared, and a little excited."
The birds are really tame. They hop right on to the stick, or your finger! They were lots of fun, and very sweet!
Then we ran into Santa! He was selling balloons. Look at how our kids were sizing him up, trying to figure out if he was real. He came right up, saying, "Ho, ho, ho!" You just never know when you're going to run into Santa Claus!
(Look at Jack's face!)
And for the moment you've been waiting for...the Grant's Farm cake!
More poses from the Fabulous Five Cousins!
Aunt Lori photobombed one!
Delicious pretzel snack!
The wait for the carousel was long, but it was worth it! The girls had their pick of carousel animals! Holly chose to ride a blue dragon, and Kate and Chloe had beautiful horses right nearby.
We looked at a few more animals before leaving. We saw llamas, camels, and zebras, to name just a few!
When we got to Grant's Trail, Holly spotted the cake first! This was a very tricky cake to find, and Amy and I were happy that we had Facebook tips to help us!

Another awesome day caking with the Fab Five!!!!
