Caking With Chloe (Cakes 133-140)

Yesterday we all went to a Girl Scout pool party. Holly wore herself out swimming all around that pool. She used two noodles, and kicked her way down the length of the pool several times! She loved being in the deep end! So today, she was shot. We went to church, and that was all she could really handle. So she stayed home for a nap this afternoon, while Chloe and I went out to see some cakes. Holly slept the whole time we were gone! I'm telling you this, so that you know why she's not in these pictures. It was a Mama/Chloe cake adventure!

I'm not going to look up information about our 8 cakes today...Chloe wants to use the computer, and I've been uploading and editing pictures for a long time today already. So look for an updated post another time!

First, we went to the Campbell House.

Gotta pretend to eat the cake...

And of course, blow out the candle. Chloe tells me all the time that the candle is her favorite part of the cake.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch

The Shrine of St. Joseph

Christ Church Cathedral

The St. Louis Public Library

Soldiers Memorial

Eugene Field House

The Broadway Oyster Bar

Chloe gave me lots of attitude when I told her that it would be OK to stand on the base of this cake. She was quick to notice bugs flying around cakes today, and so she kept a respectable distance.

We knew that Rich would be finishing his cake today, so we stopped by to see the finished product. I also wanted to see if he had any fused-glass necklaces that I could buy for the girls. They both really liked the one that I bought the last time we were at the Soulard Art Market.

The blue handprint at the bottom of the cake is Chloe's, and the pink handprint is Holly's.

On this side of the cake at the bottom, the teal colored hand is Jack's, the magenta one is Kate's, and the big pink one is Amy's. (Emma didn't want to put her handprint on the cake.)

This cake will be at its location on Tuesday. I'll be able to count it on our cake list when it's there!

Here are the girls with their necklaces:

While we were in Soulard, I picked up two Drunken Pig cupcakes from Sweet Divine for me and Tom to try. This is their signature cupcake...the one that won Cupcake Wars. We had to try it, after Amy said it was good. I'll admit that I was too scared to try it before then. The recipe online looks gross! But this cupcake is very delicious!!
