Today was not a cake-seeking day. It was a cake-stitching day! The girls played at home, we got haircuts this afternoon, and I stitched these up for our cake-hunt with the cousins tomorrow. I used shirts that I had on hand, and fabric scraps...I figure that the cakes all around town look different and whimsical, so that's sort of what I was going for. I think they look better together than they do separately, and I'm hoping for a picture of the cousins all wearing their shirts. I have enough fabric for matching shorts, but I'm out of steam for now...
I'm proud of this design, because I used my somewhat-new editing software to change a simple birthday cake design into the 250stl design. I can't design my own stuff; that software is SUPER expensive and complicated. But this serves my purpose (and this software still wasn't what I'd call cheap). I'd love to be able to design the whole thing myself, because then I could make it look exactly like the real cakes, with the base and the icing. Oh well! This is where I'm at with my level of skill for now.
Kelley, these are FANTASTIC!!!!! You are so talented!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lori! That's sweet!
