After our week-long cake break, we met Aunt Amy and the cousins today at the Magic House. We were going to go yesterday, but it was such a stormy morning, we decided to move the playdate to today. We got there soon after they opened, and it got crowded very quickly! Chloe spotted the Magic House cake from the street. It's a really good one!
This was Kate, Jack, and Emma's 150th cake!
Each one of these musical seats added different instruments to the symphony. Jack was the conductor!
The classic Magic House attraction...the Electro-Static Generator. It's been there as long as the Magic House has been in existence.
The Magic House opened in 1979. The original house was 5,500 square feet. Over the years, the museum has continually expanded. It's current size is 55,000 square feet. According to Wikipedia, there are over 550,000 visitors per year, and 12 million people total have visited the Magic House. (Most of them were there today.)
Inside the Bubble Room, the kids were able to surround themselves with a big bubble!
Chloe and Kate were blowing some BIG bubbles here!
Holly was so excited to try the big slide. She went on this lots of times!
Holly and Kate pulled themselves up, and found out that the more pulleys you have to help you with the work, the easier it is!
We found a treehouse, too!
Chloe especially liked the chalk area.
President Katelyn Downey:
Holly and Emma like the phone in the Oval Office:
Next, we explored the construction area. The kids could shovel gravel, use hand tools, and more!
After this,
We were right by the cake at the Kirkwood Train Station, so we stopped by to add it to our lists!
The Kirkwood Train Station was almost closed in 2002 when Amtrak decided to cut costs. The city of Kirkwood didn't want to lose their train station, so they bought it. To this day, it's run by volunteers. It's a very important part of the city's ambiance.
There are a lot more pictures of our day on Flickr. See the sidebar for the link.
I would like for us to find some more cakes before school starts. There are some indoor ones that will be hard to get on weekends. There's supposed to be more rainy days headed our way, and I've got lots more school work that needs to be done, so we'll have to see what happens!

I love love love all the pictures!!! Looks like everyone had a great time!
